Dirtiest Sketch in Philadelphia 2008
Tonight, I’m going to be photographing the 2nd annual “Dirtiest Sketch In Philadelphia” comedy show at The Khyber (56 S. 2 St.), 8PM, $5 — For the second year in a ROW! Thanks, Don Montrey.
Here are pics from last years festivities, as captured by yours truly:
Race War, It’s On!
Yes folks, it’s officially - ON. Just a week after a bi-racial man, named Barack H. Obama, became the presumptive Democratic party nominee for President, I have seen the so-called race war or battle of the races (or is it racists?) in a way I never have before: In my RSS feed reader:

On Wednesday, the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) received an offensive t-shirt in the mail; the shirt had “a cartoon image of Curious George, the beloved children’s character, with a paper bag over his head holding a sign that says ‘A Truth We Can Believe in ‘08!!!’ written underneath.” (ThinkProgress.org)

On the June 6 edition of Fox News’ America’s Pulse, host E.D. Hill teased an upcoming discussion on a gesture Sen. Barack Obama shared with his wife, Michelle, saying, “A fist bump? A pound? A terrorist fist jab? The gesture everyone seems to interpret differently.” (HuffingtonPost.com)

Website peddles racially-charged ‘Sock Obama’ toy
Last month, ThinkProgress noted that a bar owner in Georgia was selling t-shirts comparing Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) to Curious George; last week, the Black Congressional Caucus Foundation received an t-shirt in the mail featuring a similar image. Continuing this racially-charged theme, a stuffed monkey toy called “The Sock Obama” has now been made available online. (ThinkProgress.com)
I will keep this list updated with other absurd and down right frightening expressions of blatant racism as it becomes available (which should keep be busy in the months to come). Sad.

The Jumpers
I was mountain biking through Valley Green along the Wissahickon Creek today.. stopped to take some photos of ducks, when I heard lound splashing coming from the creek.. turned around and saw these young adults base jumping from a bridge. These guys took about 4-5 jumps before the police showed up and ran them off. It’s against park regulations to jump off the bridge. I’ve got a short video of the police intervention but Flickr won’t take it.

June 2008 Storm Damage
Wow, big storm came through Philadelphia last night. Here’s the aftermath in my area:
