Remembering: R. Kelly’s “Trapped in the Closet”
I’m sorry to be bringing this up, but apparently I have friends at work who aren’t familiar with this sensational era of pop-culture past. Long story short: R.”I’m gonna piss on you” Kelly, created a made-for-music-television 12 part series called “Trapped in the Closet” Each part was released individually and as small sets to radio stations and music video channels then released on DVD.
You have to see it to believe it, and once you have, you’ll be a better person for it, trust!

Trapped in the Closet: Chapters 13-22 (2007) (V)
FROM WIKIPEDIA:
““Trapped in the Closet” is a hip-hop opera (or hip-hopera) released by R&B singer R. Kelly in the late summer and fall of 2005. The songs relate an ongoing narrative, which Kelly exploited by sending chapters to radio stations one at a time to generate interest. It has no chorus and is told in a conversational manner, using dramatics and cliffhangers between the episodes.”
I know it’s ridiculous, but it is funny and absurd. If you’ve seen/heard it before, enjoy the fact that you can watch it all again right here, haha. If you’ve never seen it before, enjoy and thank me for it the next time you see me, haha.

Nice Vince! Comedian Aziz Ansari (of Human Giant fame) used to do a show at the UCB in NY where they would watch “Trapped in the Closet” and analyze it. Each show would feature a panel of experts played by the theater’s comedian friends. Some pretty famous people would take part.
PS Sal, Amanda, Charley and Brad are philistines.
