Christmas 2004
Christmas 2004 has come and is now on its way out the door. I must say though, it has been a joyful experience this year. I handled myself more casually than I have in the past, dressed in a nice pair of Enyce jeans and an Akademiks button up shirt with my white/nubuck colored Lugz shoes. I felt comfortable, and that was the most important thing to me. As usual, we made our rounds to friends and family before settling down back at home for the night.
My grandfather spent the night Friday, I don’t see him as often as I probably need or to so having him over was great. We watched Man on Fire Friday night while devouring a bucket of KFC extra crispy chicken, mmm. The jokes end there.
Christmas morning was pretty uneventful, woke up, had coffee and donuts with my mom and grandfather around our faux christmas tree. We did the whole gift thing, I didn’t ask for anything nor do I need anything. But, the underlying hint is, when I tell people not to buy me anything is to get gift certificates or money. My mom was extremely generous and got me;
an $80 gift card for Pepboys (my car needs a lot of maintenance)
$30 worth of credit @ Dunkin Donuts
an $80 gift card to Strawbridges (I’ll probably get a nice jacket with it)
a great set of pajamas
random stocking stuffer items (tire pressure gauge, candy, air freshener, deodorant (needed some), silly putty)
A little less financially stable, but thoughtful and a tad humorous, I picked up some novelty items for my mom including;
a t-shirt from TShirtHell.com that says “O - Oprah never gave me shit!”
a book from RoadRageCards.com
After the morning ritual, we traveled to my Uncle Charles’ home in Blackwood, NJ where we had breakfast and talked. My grandfather came along and we met up with my Aunt Mary and Uncle Leon which was cool, haven’t seen them in FOREVER.
We left there and had dinner at my Cousin Don’s new home in the Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia. It’s a great building he restored from a historic fire house into a multi-unit building. His unit is the best by far. Several floors, basement, high ceilings, roof-top access with jacuzzi. I was impressed with the multi-amp, music server array in his basement storage room. It provides rich sound to every room in his unit.

Thanks for Donating
Dear Friend,
Thank you so much for donating to my personal cause. Know that your donation will go to help me finish my higher education and nothing else. All funds for nefarious purposes will come directly from odd-jobs I do here and there.
But seriously, your donation will mean a difference in my life and I thank you from the bottom of my heart and hope in the near future I can repay each and every one of you, my sponsors.
Sincerely yours,
Vincent J. Brown, Jr.
My Recent Musings
So, I’ve been doing a lot of reflection on my life lately, but I know you don’t want me to get into that so I’ll just tell you what I’ve been doing lately. Most recently, I’ve been mixing music on my PC with this program called Audacity. I’ve always had an interest in doing this but haven’t been inspired to actually give it a shot until now. DatX.net is a domain I registered not to long ago, but until now, I haven’t hosted anyting on it except random images. I’m planning to use DatX as my monicer for my foray into this new creative medium.
I’ve also dusted my camera off and I’m going to be taking more photographs and making more of them available as poster sized prints.
Also, I’m sure most (if not all) of you are aware of Mozilla Firefox. It’s an open-source browser that’s free to download that is in many ways, superior to Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. I’ll let them tell you more about it. Anyway, regarding Firefox, I’m a huge supporter of the application and use it daily as an Internet Explorer replacement. Today, their ad (two-full pages), was published in the New York Times. Have a look.
That does it for me today, check back soon and Happy Holidays.

So, I was looking at some old links I had bookmarked and came across one that’s pretty interesting. It compiles statistics from my deviantART.com userpage into a more verbose, readable formate. Pretty interesting, I love stats anyway: Stats for attila compiled on Dec. 5th, 2004 @ 12:00PM EST

About deviantART: “On August 7, 2000, deviantART was launched to provide a central location for graphical artists to display their creations for feedback and exposure. With an emphasis on digital works as pieces of art rather than desktop eye candy, the community grew rapidly. deviantART continues to commit itself to responding to the creative outlet needs of its members, releasing and revamping categories as interest grows. From humble beginnings as primarily a static image file gallery, deviantART is now proud to host poetry, photography, flash exhibits, cell phone art, as well as an enormous Indy art and wallpaper sections and skins for 105+ applications.”
I was employed at deviantART, Inc., as the Assistant Marketing Director. This particular job necessitated; advanced computer operational skills, excellent communication, salesmanship, and marketing ability. What I was also responsible for, was building healthy relationships between software developers, website owners, community leaders, and deviantART, Inc., for the purpose of providing mutually beneficial services to both parties.
